Patlo is the Setswana process of formally requesting a bride's hand in marriage. It involves complex negotiations between the groom's and bride's families. Then a bride price, or bogadi, which is traditionally paid in cattle but can also be in money which will be paid during this event. Groom's family wear brown, then Brides's family wear Blue.

8 AM - 10 AM

MOLAODI

After Patlo, the couple and both families head to Molaodi-District Commissioner who solemnizes a civil marriage. The primary role of the molaodi is to legally bind the couple in marriage and register their union with the government then issue the couple with a marriage certificate.

1 PM - 3 PM

CHURCH

After Molaodi , The couple, accompanied by their families, proceed to the church for the solemn wedding ceremony. This service includes the exhortation, the exchange of vows, the exchange of rings, the traditional first kiss, and the formal pronouncement of the couple before God and the congregation. The Pastor’s principal duty is to officiate the spiritual union of the couple and to pronounce blessings upon their marriage.

8 AM - 10 AM

CELEBRATION
